When Can You Find Out Baby's Gender?
Gender is often visible on ultrasound starting around 14 weeks, and visibility generally improves as pregnancy progresses. Every baby is different — position, movement, and the amount of fluid around baby all affect what we're able to see on any given day. Our technicians will do everything they can to get a clear view, but we can't promise a specific outcome at every visit, and results should always be confirmed by your OB or midwife's anatomy scan later in pregnancy.
Two Ways to Find Out
Live in the studio. Gather your people — partner, kids, parents, best friend — in our seating area and find out together as it happens on our large screen. There's nothing quite like the sound of a room finding out at the same time.
The envelope reveal. If you'd rather build your own reveal moment, just ask, and our technician will seal the news in an envelope without saying a word. Take it home for a cake-cutting, a confetti pop, or a full reveal party — the moment is yours to design.
Planning a Gender Reveal Party
If you're planning to reveal at home, a few ideas our families have loved:
- A two-tone cake, cut open to show pink or blue inside — pair with a bakery who can work from your sealed envelope
- A "confetti box" or pop-top canister the parents-to-be open together
- Balloon-filled boxes that release color when opened
- A simple sit-down dinner where the color of dessert does the talking

How accurate is a gender ultrasound?
We do our best to get a clear view every time, but no ultrasound can guarantee 100% accuracy — it depends on your baby's position and how much they're willing to cooperate that day. Because of this, we always recommend confirming with your OB or midwife at your anatomy scan before making big purchases or announcements.
How early can you tell gender?
Many of our sessions from 14 weeks onward are able to show gender, though clarity tends to improve later in pregnancy. If we're not able to get a clear view, we'll talk you through your options.
Can you keep it a surprise until my reveal party?
Yes — just let us know ahead of time, and we'll seal the results in an envelope without revealing anything in the room.
Can my whole family come for the reveal?
Absolutely. Our Scottsdale studio comfortably seats up to 10 guests, so bring the people you want in the room for this one.
Is this the same as a medical anatomy scan?
No — we're an elective, non-diagnostic studio. Our sessions are for bonding and celebration, not medical diagnosis, and they don't replace the anatomy scan and other screenings your OB or midwife will provide.
